Edgar Gentle has practiced law for more than 30 years. Schooled at Auburn University as an undergraduate, he subsequently studied at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar and received a BA and an MA in jurisprudence. Back in the U.S., Edgar Gentle earned a JD at the University of Alabama School of Law under a Hugo Black Scholarship.
In his ensuing law career, Mr. Gentle worked as a senior staff attorney for AT&T, as an associate with the Law Office of James L. North, and as a partner in Schoel, Ogle, Benton, Gentle, & Centeno. He is especially experienced as a claims administrator and a special master in mass tort litigation, and he has helped negotiate over $2 billion in settlements over the course of his career. Currently, Edgar Gentle is the managing partner of Gentle, Turner, Sexton & Harbison, LLC.
Outside of his legal responsibilities, Mr. Gentle is a shareholder, director, and chairman of the board of Custom Cable Services, Inc. He guarantees company loans and monitors the corporation’s financial standing. He also serves as a member of the Academy of Court Appointed Masters and meets once a year with other members to share ideas and notes.
In his free time, Mr. Gentle is an avid bass fisherman. He participates in roughly 12 bass tournaments every year and splits his fishing time between two lake houses in Alabama. He also enjoys writing poems and short stories, and his first volume of work, Pond Mountain Tales, is being published.
